It has configurations for anything from just 2.0 fronts surround, 2.1,3.0,3.1 all the way up to 7.2 or 5.1.2 I`m currently running 5.1 Sounds pretty darn good. Sometimes when playing a dvd the back speakers don't seem to work at all.
